Portland Bill is a well loved destination attracting visitors to the iconic Portland Bill Lighthouse which has been been standing for over a hundred years. The distinctive red and white tower first shone its famous light in January 1906 guiding vessels through the hazardous waters around Portland Bill and acting as a waymark for ships navigating the English Channel.
Portland Bill is a must visit attraction when visiting the nearby town of Weymouth and is worth the trip from Bournemouth, Poole and Swanage.
